Creative play is something children do naturally and the act of being creative brings with it so many benefits. According to Lynn Toomey, of Let’s Gogh Art, “It is proven that visual art is critical to a child’s development and fosters academic achievement throughout life.” Creative play is the freest form of self-expression, there is nothing more satisfying and fulfilling for children than to be able to express themselves. So, while it’s tempting to leave all the ‘messy’ creative activities for your child to do at school or day care, there are so many skills they can learn by having the freedom to do them at home. Developing a love of creative process will set your child up as a creative thinker in all areas of their life.

We just received the rocket from April….I cannot even tell you how much both my four year old son and his 7 year old sister have loved this. From the moment Dad pulled it out of the box and popped it together one of them has been sitting in it. My seven year old puts it in the living room when she gets TV time and sits in it looking out the little portal! It is hilarious! We have had it now for about 2 weeks and the decorating of it just goes on and on! Stickers, pens, crayons, taping things on to it! I cannot believe the mileage I have gotten from it for some good old fashioned imaginative play! They are always blasting off somewhere! I has become a permanent fixture in our living room.
As a mom, I appreciate the fact that it is safe, made with non-toxic materials, MADE in the USA and is something they can create stories with and create art with! Thanks April, you have made a very remarkable product…we are now ordering the little castle!
Oh and one more note, my husband saved the box and it is easy dissembled and stored, so once they move on, I am going to put it away for a bit and then pull it out again in a couple of months.
